Award-winning Costume Designer Leslie Kavanagh expanded the world of Gilead as Costume Designer for Season 1 of The Testaments, building on her acclaimed work designing Seasons 5 and 6 of The Handmaid’s Tale.

Renowned for her distinctive silhouettes, custom dye palettes, textured fabrics, and intricate detailing, Leslie’s designs are central to the visual storytelling of every project she undertakes. Her work reflects a deep understanding of narrative and character, brought to life through costume.

With a career spanning more than 25 years, Leslie has earned a strong reputation for her collaborative approach, working closely with directors, producers, production designers, and directors of photography to bring scripted worlds vividly to life.

Her diverse design credits include Motorheads, Whistle, Clarice, and Man Seeking Woman. In addition to her work as a designer, Leslie has contributed to numerous television series and feature films in a wide range of roles within the costume department.

A proud member of IATSE 873 and the Costume Designers Guild, Leslie is also an active advocate for the costume design community. She contributes to industry development through training programs with CAFTCAD (The Canadian Alliance of Film and Television

Costume Arts and Design) and serves as a mentor to emerging costume professionals.
